Kumar Goes to the White House

There might still be hope for me in politics after all.

The White House has hired actor Kal Penn as a liaison between President Barack Obama's administration and Asian constituents. White House spokesman Shin Inouye said Tuesday that the actor who had a recurring role on Fox's TV show "House" and has starred in several movies would join the staff as an associate director in the Office of Public Liaison.

His role will be to connect Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, as well as arts groups.

Penn starred as Kumar in the movie, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." His "House" character committed suicide in Monday's episode.

Penn backed Obama during the campaign.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle was the original dope pop culture stoner movie, not the Guantanamo Bay sequel. Suicide seems to be a harsh outcome for his character on House and Penn was pretty money in Van Wilder flicks too.

On a related side note, I recently watched American Pie and Harold (John Cho) was the one who first said the term MILF while describing Stiffler's mom. The word has never left our lexicon and most likely never will. There needs to be some recognition of people who first ignite such words into pop culture prominence.

I would make some lame weed joke but I do not to ruin my renewed hope for a white house gig.

Oh, I could not resist the clips.

Kumar loves his ganja.

This could be the best mocking of the highly ineffective anti drug commercials.

I will apologize now because this song will stuck in your head all day after viewing.

Happy St Patty's Day!

My buddy, the Notorious DEK, hooked me up with some mad funny to begin "everyone wants to be drunk like us" Irish Day.
The White House represented their Chitown roots by dying the fountains green like the Chicago river.

The Administration decided to use March 17th to officially announce their new Irish diplomatic gig.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday selected Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney to be U.S. ambassador to Ireland, turning to a lifelong Republican who provided the Democrat critical campaign support during the White House race.

It is a perfect time to roll with this photo.

I love the Irish.

Bulls visit the White House

The Chicago Bulls are in town facing the Wizards (Plenty of Seats still Available!) so President Obama invited the Bulls for a White House visit.

Derrick Rose was impressed with Barry the Baller:
'It was a great experience,'' Bulls rookie point guard Derrick Rose said. ''Usually, you're nervous around a person of his stature and power, but he made us feel at ease. He was like one of the guys. He was laughing and joking with us and knew everybody on the team by name.
The 26-32 and constantly underachieving Bulls get a WH visit? Come on now.  Using this logic, the winless 13 year old boys basketball team that I coach should have an official ceremony.

Alright, I better get in on these WH pick up games.
David Axelrod, the president's senior adviser, was a longtime Bulls season ticket holder and also attended the visit.

''The president chatted with the players and said he was converting the tennis court out back here into a basketball court,'' Axelrod said. ''He invited them to come and play pickup with him in the summer.
As a six foot aging white guy with no hops, I want no part of the games with the Bulls. However, I will toss some mad elbows around and blast some out of shape White House staffers with crushing picks.

Reggie Love does not scare me either.  I know Rahmbo could use some smacking around after his recent New Yorker fellatio by Ryan Lizza.

Due to Obama's White Sox fandom, Ozzie Guillen and club are destined to score an Oval Office visit this summer. Those Guillen quotes should be outstanding.

Oh, Dick Vitale, I glossed Obama with a dope basketball nickname over a year ago: Barry the Baller.  Mine is much cooler slang than Commander in Swish.

"Move Bush, Get Out the Way"

I did not end up here until a hour after this footage and the crowd had thinned a little but it was still electric.

My 2 favorite post election quotes so far:

Considering all of the "celebrabrating" going on last night, I wonder how big the baby boom will be between August 4th and August 11th 2009...

It's a great day for Democrats and Republicans alike. For Democrats, Barack Obama was elected President.
For Republicans, there was finally dancing in the streets and Americans greeted as liberators.
