Barry O's Thoughts on his Daughters Snow Day

From Washington City Paper:

“Can I make a comment that is unrelated to the economy very quickly?” Obama asked at a morning economic briefing. “It has to do with Washington. My children’s school was canceled today. Because of what—some ice? As my children pointed out, in Chicago, school is never canceled.”

Obama went on to suggest that D.C. would do well to emulate “flinty Chicago toughness.”

“I’m saying when it comes to the weather, folks in Washington don’t seem to be able to handle things,” he concluded.

To be fair, almost every school in the DC area, including all of the VA and MD burbs were canceled except for the DC public schools. Also, the ice was pretty nasty to walk around in this morning but I share in some of the Presidents weather amazement as I have long been amused at the DC media freak out over a few inches of snow accumulation.
