There are simple easy rules in life. Do not mess with a man's meal, remote control, last smoke or booze. I imagine this is exactly how this battle would play out if someone grabbed my final Miller High Life.
Thievery Corporation is one of my favorite music artists and they are iconic cultural figures here in DC. Thievery Corp has a new album out called "Radio Retaliation." They sat down with Jambase for an interview.
Their response to a DC question describes perfectly the environment that I reside in and the Dbags I rip on Mac G's World.
Living in D.C. you're right in the thick of American politics. What impact does that geographical location have on your daily life?
D.C. is a surprisingly nice and beautiful city; with perhaps more diversity than any I've visited in the U.S. - only Toronto seemed more culturally diverse. This international flavor certainly piqued our interest in global sounds and travel from an early age.
At a local used book and record shop, I often find collectible Brazilian records and other gems. On the down side, it really is Hollywood for ugly people. The people in power are some of the slimiest individuals you can meet, and the young people who come to D.C. to work in politics are so fucking naïve it's startling.
My DC United friends have problems with the team's goalie, Louis Crayton, but it has to do with his sporadic play and gambling style in goal. The team has been slumping and needs victories in their last 2 matches to make the MLS playoffs.
D.C. United goalkeeper Louis Crayton was chatting with well-wishers outside the club's locker room following a 0-0 tie with the Dynamo on Sunday night when, he said, a Houston fan directed a racial slur at him.
Crayton, who is black, leapt over a barrier and attempted to confront the man before security and United General Manager Dave Kasper restrained the native of Liberia.
"It is so sad that he would say that to me," Crayton said. "I am saying hi to the fans and he walked up to me and told me, 'Hey, you're a monkey, go back to the jungle.'
I told him, 'Hey, you can't say that to me. I am not a monkey, I am a human being like you.' I jumped over to ask him why he insulted me, and he kept going."
Let us play some Jeopardy real quick. Racsim for 800. The current location to see a person of color compared to a monkey. "Where is a McCain/Palin campaign rally?" You are correct.
I really would like educate these folk yelling "socialists" that our U.S. government just nationalized multiple major corporations and is about to buy large amounts of capital stake in the U.S. banking system. There is no word to describe this government activity other than socialism. However, I fear they would scream "commie" and call out my patriotism. Oh Well.
Most of those in line would likely repeat the Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity lies of blaming just Fannie Mac and Freddie Mae for the world's economic troubles. Of course, with everything that comes out of these partisan jackasses mouths, this is just not true. Read this great McClatchy story about the whole mortgage mess.
Email those links to your friends and family members because in order to have much needed honest political discourse in this country, especially in this crazy time, it must be based in facts and not false scapegoats.
I will get back to Poon and random entertainment shortly. Carry On.
This video is hilarious but I will forewarn that this song could be stuck in your head afterwards for a long time. Although I am too much of an transplanted east coast elitist to move to Canada if Palin became VP, the increased access to killer BC beasters is definitely tempting.
Fox News continues to have a hard time hiding their biased balanced "reporting" and utter contempt for a potential Democratic victory next month. Even a stoner knows 7 is not half of 30.
Aside from a few jabs at Gramps McCain, I have tried to limit my political views on this site. I still strongly support Barry the Baller and I am eagerly anticipating a major GOP A$$ kicking on November 4th. I will leave it at that for now.
Keith Olberman comes across as a smug, snooty, condescending jerk but I love he speaks some truth to the Fox News propaganda power and calls out their BS. After viewing Sarah Palin's VP debate performance, Conservative writer Rich Lowry basically got a hard on and penned about his erection. Olberman's take on Lowry's woody is classic.
Here are Lowry's infamous masturbating musings:
I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile.
By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America. This is a quality that can't be learned; it's either something you have or you don't, and man, she's got it.
Modern American Conservatives have sunk to the intellectual and emotional level of the guy who thinks the stripper really likes him.
I feel your pain Starburst boy and I have fallen into the stripper trap a few times myself. The women at the "Pink Pony" in the ATL always send me into a dizzy spell.
One of my most impressive accomplishments in college was to score a stripper's digits from Dolls in Iowa City. Her name was "Courtney Heaven" and it was a pager. Good times!
This post is dedicated to my favorite anonymous commenter MH and hopefully it was the first time that KO made you laugh. Keep the GOP hope alive.
These videos have potential to make you dizzy and the background dance music is way off but the content is full of potty mouthed pooners tailgating. Oh yes and it is awesome.
Although the Hawkeyes should never lose to their football team ever, I have a higher respect for Western Michigan now.
For those that enjoy random meat head humor, the following video is for you.
Comedian Elon James White does these hilarious short bits called This Week in Blackness. This is the funniest episode yet and by far the best post VP debate coverage video out there. I just spit out my late afternoon java laughing.
The Palin-Biden drinking game could be very rough on your liver but mos def would spark up the 90 minute talking points gab fest.
Since there is a recent study out there reporting Mary Jane is less harmful than booze (shocking, ground breaking stuff eh?), you could just roll a spliff, puff it while fading away into your living room couch.
This could be a much better option for those who struggle listening to Hockey Mom's condescending nasal tone of lies(ME!) and Senator MBNA's notorious rambling oratory(America).
I have been intently following the Presidential election so I am accustomed to viewing an old cranky senile man ramble on and on, then make piss poor indefensible public decisions. Al Davis reminds me of Gramps McCain with their questionable judgement, out of touch beliefs, and quest and longing for the "glorious days of years past."
The Al Davis bizarre firing press conference did not really surprise me and I only fault Lane Kiffin for signing up to have this bitter geezer as his boss. Let us go to the Abe Simpson tape:
Davis is not the only professional sports owner with a stranglehold on a team's fan base. The Orioles just finished up their 11th straight losing season under the miserable ownership of Peter Angelos.
Things are so terrible with this organization that the fact they were playing near 500 ball in early August is considered a crowning achievement. The Orioles performed their usual late season collapse to finish 68-93 and in dead last in the AL East.
The Angelos controlled Orioles have only had 4 winning seasons in his 16 year tenure and the dismal player/leadership hires are too painful for this die hard Os fan to detail right now.
Since both owners are unwilling to sell, there is a twisted but true fact to report.
If Davis or Angelos croaked tomorrow, the majority of the respective Os and Raiders fans would be in state of jubilation, not mourning.
Unlike the inconsistent Nebraska Cornhusker offense, which aside from a late rally sputtered throughout the home loss to Virginia Tech, Mac G's poon ninja skills were rock steady on gameday. The Big 12 Skers pooners bring more to the table than the current piss poor Huskers offensive line.
